| If you're bored and the nasty weather's keeping the '51's grounded, you can check these out! lol Put these together when I was flying for the LCA - will try to start doing them for us as well now that I've got a place to post them! I get a kick out of filming/editing them. Maybe these will push some of you over the edge to get that TrackIR! | Well basically it's a little infra-red reciever piece that sits on top of your monitor and you wear a clip on your headset or hat that has 3 LED's - and the reciever tracks the movement of those LEDs and translates it into head motion in game. You can change the sensitivity curves for each axis (6 axis in AH) around to your liking - I've got mine very sensitive (increased it a bit over time as I got used to it) so I barely move my head and the game head moves a lot. It seems like I just think about looking a certain direction and I am, pretty slick. It really adds to the immersion factor as well. http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/ | |

| Damn you Cobra I am thinking about getting TrackIR now lol. With all this OT I am working I can definately afford it. I do have a question though. You have to by the clip separate or is there one package. I can't find it on their site. | |

| Disregard the package I found it. Not to bad $150. Now I just need to see if I will have to upgrade my comp anymore. I think I might wait on TrackIR and get a better video card. What set up do you have Cobra is it the 3 or 4. | |

| From viewing films it seems TrackIR would be a lot of fun and add an advatage of other players as you are able to also move your gun sight around easily to take certain shots. I have seen video of guys using 3 monitors normally with TrackIR but imagine one wouold work fine as well. You don't need three right? I have also heard of guys using their laptops and a large screen TV which I also think would be very cool. There was a guy in the MAW back in 01 who used a projector and said it was pretty hard to miss his enemies as they were the size of a large RC airplane on his wall. Be cool to see wingspans of 3 to 4 feet projected on my wall and have TrackIR working at same time Add in one of these and you'd be seizure ready. | |

| I've got the 4 Pro that came with the TrackClip Pro. It shouldn't affect your FPS at all. I don't know how I flew so many years without it - it adds so much to the experience, I love it.
Haha - those motion simulators - those just wouldn't be worth the $ because the motion/feel wouldn't match the screen - even though it tries to. In an airplane when you roll into a bank (assuming it's coordinated) you don't experience lateral G's/feel like you're leaning, because you're pulling G's - so it just feels like you're sitting upright even in a steep bank. I think it'd be weird to fly with one of those motion sims. Now, a full motion sim built on the arm of a centrifuge that could recreate 8 G per second onset rates, that'd be something to have! | |
